“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.” – John 1:18
I’ve been having fun with this women and communication stuff so here’s a little more. The movie What Women Want takes another humorous look at women and communication. Mel Gibson (Nick) plays a divorced, womanizing playboy that holds a prominent management position for an advertising firm. To his surprise, Darcy, a successful woman executive in the industry is hired into the firm as Nick’s boss. One night while attempting to create a marketing campaign for women’s products at the direction of Darcy, he accidentally gets electrically shocked into a state where he can hear women’s thoughts. At first, he views this phenomenon as a special gift that he uses to his benefit to sabotage the unsuspecting Darcy. As the plot unfolds, the ‘gift’ provides him with a new level of understanding that softens his heart. Now, instead of using the gift as a weapon, he learns to use it to develop fruitful relationships – initiating a new bond with his estranged daughter, intervening to save a suicidal young woman co-worker, and falling for Darcy, the woman that he set out to sabotage. You might say that he learned the value of relationships through a higher level of communication. When it comes right down to it, our life is measured by the relationships we build, starting with our relationship with God.
Life is all about relationships that impact lives.
Dear Almighty God of mercy, love and grace, help us to build a deeper love relationship with You and precious godly relationships with others. Help us so that everything that we think, say and do will be worthy of You. Help us to remember Lord, that You are our shield, our strength, our portion, our deliverer, our shelter, our strong tower, our very present help in time of need. Help us to live our lives today for Your glory as a spiritual act of worship. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
I will work on my relationship-building.
