To everything there is a season… And we are entering a season in which God desires we dream again. We cannot allow the ‘curve balls’ thrown to keep us from fulfilling our destiny with Him!
In this hour, God is removing the ashes and replacing them with His beauty. He is taking our mourning and giving us His joy! Ashes are the disappointments, failures, embarrassments and unmet expectations that cause us heartache; we retaliate by hiding. We once believed ‘big’ of God; now we shrink back, questioning ourselves and Him. This very hour God is opening our heart to dream on and dream big – again! God loves dreamers! And He wants us to realize He can do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we think or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you” (TPT – Ephesians 3:20).
God Desires We Dream on and Dream Big
Do you realize this? God desires we dream on and dream big – with Him. He does not want past experiences to hold us back. Dreams cause our heart to rise in faith; dreams cause our heart to believe God will move in greater ways than we could ever imagine. We were never intended to function within the ash heap but to rise above it. It is time to dream on – again! It’s time to place our expectations and anticipation back on God.
Do not listen to those voices saying, ‘Do not do that again; you know what happened last time!’ ‘Don’t invest in that again; look how it turned out for you!’ ‘You missed God last time; what makes you think you aren’t missing Him again!’ ‘Don’t be a fool; you are wasting your time, energy and money!’ These are lies from the father of lies! Satan wants us to take his bait; if we do, he has us hooked. He can manipulate us, causing our heart to fill with fear, doubt and insecurity.
The Spirit of Truth
There are many voices trying to speak to us. There is only One Voice we must listen to – the Spirit of Truth!
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come” (NKJV – John 16:13).
The Spirit of Truth will always guide us to the true character of God and the truth of who we are in Him. Even in past dreams, the ones that faltered, the ones that caused our heart to question, doubt and hide, the Spirit of Truth desires to reveal to us His Truth. It is so easy to ask God, ‘Why?’ when things do not turn out as we intended. Then again, maybe that is not the proper question. The questions should be: ‘Who are You in this situation, God? What do You want me to learn from this?’ God is always speaking, and He desires that we know Him more intimately.
God Knows How to Dream
Do you realize when we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart? I believe some of the desires we obtain come from the whispers of God’s heart to ours. He wants us to dream on and dream big, because HE is a Dreamer. He created the universe, and He knows how to dream. He created the world, and He knows how to dream. He created all living things, and He knows how to dream.
We were created in God’s image, and He wants us to dream. It is through our ability to believe God to do the impossible within and through our life that makes the journey with Him so amazing! Don’t allow the past to hold you down! God does not want us to remain stuck but wants us to keep forging ahead – with Him!
Some of the greatest inventions impacting culture were made by men and women who were dreamers willing to take risks. God is raising an army of men and women willing to dream with Him. Through those dreams, lives will be affected and cultures impacted!
I hear the Lord say, “It’s time to wander with God in great wonder about all the possibilities that await you.” We were never intended to be sidelined. God always sees us playing a key role on His team!
In Him,
