Happy New Year to each of you!
As we are entering into 2013, I keep hearing the Lord say these words: “New beginnings are coming. The old is gone and the new is approaching. But I ask you, how will you respond?” I believe God is preparing His Church for change. What we have clung onto in the past will be no more. God is getting ready His Bride for Him and His Glory. He is shifting us to a deeper level with Him and it is our responsibility to respond back to Him.
As I meditated upon the words “new beginnings,” I realize in order for “new beginnings” to occur within our lives, it will require learning to let go and learning to embrace the new. We cannot be fearful of what the “new” is because we rest knowing God’s truth of our lives “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” New beginnings birth within us a new hope spurring each of us on to fulfill the plans He has for each of our lives. We need not fret nor be filled with worry, yet as soon as we hear the word “change” we start to do exactly that – being consumed with anxiety, worry and fear.
I believe God desires for us to approach new beginnings as an opportunity to explore, devote and to respond. It will be a time where we ourselves will desire to explore, devote and respond to the Great I Am like we’ve never done before.
What does it mean to explore? We are going to seek God out for Who He is. Who is the Great I Am who not only carries every title that could be given but owns them as well? How can we devote ourselves to God? It will be done through learning to love Him with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. We will need to let go of those hindrances and be consecrated for Him and His Glory. What does it mean to respond? Our first part of our response will be through our surrendered heart then followed by walking in obedience to His call.
2013 is going to be a journey, and with the journey comes His promises and His hope. Are you ready to embrace the adventure? Get ready for the journey; get ready for the ride of your life!
“You are my witnesses, declares the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you many know and believe me and understand that I Am He.”- Isaiah 43:10
May we set our faces like flint towards the One who will be our Guiding Light and lead us down the path of righteousness for His Name sake.
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
