As I was seeking God for direction for some many things within my life lately, I kept hearing Him say, “Press Forward.” I knew we were in a season of transition and with transition can sometimes come chaos. If you are like me, transition, also known by its alias name change, can be very difficult. I don’t think there are many of us who like change. We would rather run from change than embrace it. Why is it so difficult to embrace change? I believe the number one reason is fear. It is fear of the unknown. What used to be is no more and God is causing us to forge ahead, causing us to become even more dependent upon Him. In one word – Trust!
However, I don’t believe God speaking “press forward” is only for me. I believe this message is for you too. God needs you to press forward in Him. He needs you to press forward towards your destiny no matter what obstacle may be trying to hinder you. He needs you to press forward in trusting Him knowing that the plans He has for your life are for good and not harm. He needs you to press forward because where He will lead His grace will follow giving you all the strength, endurance, and encouragement to press past your fears and insecurities and to obtain victory with Him.
Philippians 3: 12 “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”
Paul’s goal in life wasn’t his own agenda or will but Paul’s goal was Christ’s goal and this too should be ours. Jesus’ goal for our lives is to finish the race He has set before us. It is to accomplish with Him what He has called each of us to do for Him and through Him. We cannot allow the enemy to distract us. He is very crafty and is very capable of doing so but our inner attitude of our heart needs to be that of Paul when he spoke “I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” No matter what, we need to keep pressing forward!
So no matter what you are facing, keep pressing forward. If you fall down, pick yourself back up and keep moving forward. So many times, Satan will try to discourage us and cause us to doubt God’s direction. Paul knew exactly well of Satan’s tactics, but he chose to rest in God’s grace. “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect,” Paul knew without God’s grace he could not succeed and nor can we. It is God’s amazing grace that enables us to grow in Him and in turn He continues to encourage us to press forward. God never makes us feel like a failure. He never makes us feel inadequate or inept. He is your Trainer telling you to “Press Forward” no matter what. God the Father is the One walking beside you telling you, “You can do it!” Believe it dear one! Believe Him for He will never leave you nor forsake you. He’s goal is for you to fulfill your destiny with Him.
