Over the last couple of months, my heart has been broken for the body of Christ to become aware, acknowledge and address her relationship with Christ Jesus.
Now is the time to become aware of where we are within our walk with God. Being aware is the first step to reconciling our love relationship with Him. As I was reading Isaiah 29:13 “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips but their hearts are far from me,” my heart just ached. Have we the Bride of Christ fallen into a similar situation as the people of Israel did towards God? Have we gotten complacent and too comfortable in our walk with Him?
Part of being aware requires that we examine our own hearts. The reality is that God desires to be in fellowship with us, but He doesn’t just want part of us, He wants all of us. He desires for our affections to be released to Him. He waits patiently for us to commune with Him. Yet, we are the ones not fully committed back to Him.
We need to acknowledge that there is something amiss in our walk with God. If we do not acknowledge that there are issues occurring within our walk, then how will we ever change? Change is a word that people do not like to hear. However, not all change is bad. Sometimes change births something new within us. Sometimes change challenges us to arise to a new level, and sometime change forces us to reevaluate where we’ve been and where we are going. Change gives us the ability to address areas within our lives that need healing, mending, adjusting, stirring and fine tuning.
So let me ask you, where does God desire to address some areas within your life? Perhaps He is looking to bring healing to your broken heart? Or could it be He wants you to adjust your priorities to reflect His heart? Or perhaps, He is causing a stir within you to return back to Him with full devotion and commitment?
Can I say, no matter how He is pursuing you, choose to respond to Him. Trust me; the change He desires to birth is life-giving. It will not only be for your good, but His glory!
